Adult Social Care Providers in the West Midlands
Building a Stronger Care Sector Together
Your Needs as a Care Provider
“Prior to international recruitment, we had to hand back care hours to local authorities due to the lack of staff. Since recruiting internationally, we have been able to provide 100% of all packages against the care frameworks they have with local authorities.”
Waheed Azam, Operations Director, at Nationwide Care Services
Our Programme is here to help CQC-registered adult social care providers, particularly those with or considering getting licensed sponsorships, navigate challenges and access vital resources to recruit, retain, and support international care workers.

Displaced International Care Workers Register
This is a platform designed to facilitate connections between care providers who have a valid sponsorship licence and local authorities grappling with workforce revocations.
This initiative seeks to support international care workers by streamlining the process of matching available resources with areas of urgent need, and ultimately helping to improve the consistency and quality of care in the West Midlands
How Does it Work?
- Care providers, with a valid Sponsorship Licence, can register their availability through the Displaced Workers Register portal.
- Local authorities dealing with revocations can also submit details, outlining the number of international care workers effected in their area.

Supporting Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) Applications
Local Authorities can support care provider’s Certificate of Sponsorship applications in a bid to try and quickly secure sponsorship for displaced international care workers.
How Local Authorities Can Help with COS Applications
- Assess CoS applications from providers using the provided UKVI checklist, which includes verifying contracts and ensuring that CoS requests are reasonable.
- Submit a letter of support to UKVI once satisfied with the provider’s application.
Please note, the letter of support to help speed up CoS applications is optional and is not an endorsement, nor does it guarantee UKVI will accept the application. DASSs can decline to provide a letter of support if they do not have sufficient information, or if they cannot assure themselves that the number of CoS applied for is reasonable.
