The annual Excellence in Care Awards, organised by West Midlands Care Association (WMCA), once again celebrated the individuals and organisations driving sustainable excellence across community, nursing, special needs, and residential care settings. Among this year’s distinguished winners was Mohsin Abdul of Caring with Dignity Limited in Tipton, who received the WMCA Excellence in Care Award: Sponsored International Worker.
The award recognises Mohsin’s exceptional commitment to residents, his compassion, and his outstanding contribution to the care sector. Since arriving in England three years ago, Mohsin has focused his work on supporting people living with dementia. Early in his role, he identified how crucial clear communication was for clients’ wellbeing. Determined to enhance their experience, he invested in professional voice coaching- funded entirely by himself – and has since gained teaching qualifications to support his ongoing development.
WMCA also recognised two outstanding runners-up in the category: Amanjot Kaur from Wellesley House Nursing Home, and Oluwaseyi Stephen Afolabi of Fairmont Residential, both praised for their dedication and contribution to high-quality care.
Mohsin’s achievement, along with the accomplishments of this year’s runners-up, highlights the invaluable role international care workers play in our communities. Their expertise, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond strengthen the support available to vulnerable people across the region.
A big thank you goes to Mohsin, Amanjot, Oluwaseyi, and all international care workers whose commitment continues to make a profound difference every day.
