our Voice has been designed to provide a safe space and alternative way for international care workers, living in the West Midlands, to share their experiences of coming to the UK and working in care. It offers a simple, private way to be heard and help shape improvements for care workers.

Our goal is to capture the voices of international care workers, including challenges and success stories. We will share them anonymously with DHSC and other influential organisations to inform future policy, future thinking around international recruitment and support for care workers.

How to access Your Voice

This is available online via https://ai.myuk.life/wm/ and also by calling +44 121 816 0600 – it's 24/7 and multilingual so that international care workers can speak in their preferred language. Callers can share their story with an AI coach in a short 5–10 minute conversation.

Our AI coach cannot give advice or take action, and we cannot contact you afterwards. Anyone worried about their safety or wellbeing, please reach out for help – our Safeguarding and Wellbeing Guide provides contact details for a range of organisations, depending on the need/concern.

Our Promise

  • We listen, not judge. Our AI coach is here only to listen to callers stories.
  • Callers stay anonymous. We don't collect personal details and cannot contact callers after their call.
  • Callers are in control. They can tell us as much or as little as they feel comfortable with.
  • We will use the stories (without identifying anyone) to highlight real experiences and push for positive change.
  • They guide improvements. What you share helps inform Government consultation and future improvements in international recruitment and support for care workers.

If you are an intrenational care worker and would like ongoing support, you can also join My UK Life, a free platform for international care workers. Here you can access AI coaches, connect with a community of care workers, get CV and interview support, and find signposting to other services.
