Adult Social Care Providers in the West Midlands
Building a Stronger Care Sector Together
Your Needs as a Care Provider
“Prior to international recruitment, we had to hand back care hours to local authorities due to the lack of staff. Since recruiting internationally, we have been able to provide 100% of all packages against the care frameworks they have with local authorities.”
Waheed Azam, Operations Director, at Nationwide Care Services
Our Programme is here to help CQC-registered adult social care providers, particularly those with or considering getting licensed sponsorships, navigate challenges and access vital resources to recruit, retain, and support international care workers.
How We Support Care Providers
We offer a range of services to empower care providers:
- Compliance Guidance: Navigate sponsorship and employment regulations with expert advice.
- HR and Legal Support: Access resources to address complex staffing and legal issues.
- Recruitment Solutions: Connect with a pool of qualified, work-ready international care workers.
Enhanced Support Through Local Authorities
Through the Small Grants Programme, ten councils across the West Midlands are offering additional support to care providers and international care workers, including:
- Practical tools for compliance and ethical recruitment.
- Access to local initiatives aimed at improving worker retention and satisfaction.

Supporting Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS) Applications
Local Authorities can support care provider’s Certificate of Sponsorship applications in a bid to try and quickly secure sponsorship for displaced international care workers.
How Local Authorities Can Help with COS Applications
- Assess CoS applications from providers using the provided UKVI checklist, which includes verifying contracts and ensuring that CoS requests are reasonable.
- Submit a letter of support to UKVI once satisfied with the provider’s application.
Please note, the letter of support to help speed up CoS applications is optional and is not an endorsement, nor does it guarantee UKVI will accept the application. DASSs can decline to provide a letter of support if they do not have sufficient information, or if they cannot assure themselves that the number of CoS applied for is reasonable.
Additional Sponsorship Support
We have partnered with Lifted, a technology platform and expert immigration team, to help care providers recruit and retain sponsored workers who are already here in the UK, and to protect their sponsorship licenses.
Lifted will complete all Home Office, and CQC compliance, organise housing and provide immigration support. They will also pay all of your upfront recruitment fees and replace this with a simple monthly fee that covers all their support to make sponsorship affordable.
